SpaceX launches SpainSat NG II satellite mission and retires B1076 Falcon 9 booster
SpaceX has launched the SpainSat NG II mission, the second satellite in Spain’s next-generation secure communications program, SpainSat NG (New Generation).
The mission launched from Space Launch Complex 40, Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Florida, at 9:30 p.m. EDT. It was successfully carried out in the geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO), with the deployment completed after 35 minutes of mission time.
However, a significant milestone in this mission was the B1076 booster’s retirement, which completed its 22nd and final flight with this mission to provide the extra boost required for the satellite deployment.
