xAI is working on a major Grok Imagine update that will improve the quality of AI video generations per request, as confirmed by the company CEO, Elon Musk.

“The next Grok Imagine release will be epic. We are doubling down,” wrote Musk on the X social media site. Unfortunately, he didn’t reveal much about the specifics of this Imagine release, but we have a pretty good idea of what’s heading our way.

Imagine is an AI video generation tool that is a part of the Grok AI chatbot. Users can ask Imagine to generate a video based on a text description, and it would take a matter of a couple of seconds to come up with the output.

Since its launch, xAI has shipped a couple of updates to this Imagine, improving its image quality and motion in videos. Thus, providing smooth visuals compared to the initial Imagine versions.

With this evolution, Imagine users can generate up to 10 seconds of videos, which was capped to 6 seconds previously. Furthermore, you can now extend video frames, taking them to 15 seconds and more in some cases.

The next update will further improve the instruction following and ship image quality upgrades. To be mentioned, Imagine has one of the best image qualities by far in any video generator online. However, a major update could take Grok Imagine videos to the next level.

Chibi

xAI offers ready-to-use templates for Grok Imagine users, which allows users to generate images and videos without using custom instructions. One of the most recent additions – Chibi, a anime style videos, has become popular among users.

Videos generated with this template have garnered huge props on X. However, there are a bunch of templates available to experiment with on Grok web and mobile platforms.
