Apple release iOS 26.6 public beta 2, here are the new features
Apple has released iOS 26.6 public beta 2, bringing new improvements for public testers, a day after releasing iOS 26.6 beta 2 for developers. Here are the new features that you should know about.
Block contacts limit alert: Apple has reportedly applied a 20,000 limit on blocked contacts. When a user crosses this limit, the system reminds the user with a message that the max number of blocked contacts has been reached. To add a new contact to the blocked list, users will have to delete and make place from the list. You may not need this many blocked contacts, but it’s a new addition.
Apple Maps: Another important addition to the latest iOS 26.6 beta is the Blastdoor sandboxing framework. It was first launched with iOS 14 for iMessages, which isolates and validates untrusted data in the background, creating a significant barrier against zero-click exploits and malicious code.
Third is the new anti-snatching protection. Internal code reveals that Apple is about to add a new anti-snatching feature that will lock the iPhone as soon as it slips out of the user’s hands. This feature liekly to use on-board sensors and hardware to determine whether the phone is snatched out of the original user’s hands. Once determined, it will apply the lock screen, and it will become inaccessible.
You should know that these features are part of the beta test campaign and will make their way to all iPhone users with a stable release.
iOS 26.6 beta 2 follows the recent release of IOS 27, Apple’s latest software featuring a variety of new changes. It has improved the liquid glass design and made it more immersive with visibility optimizations. iOS 27 also offers a new Siri AI assistant that’s finally bringing the generative AI model to provide natural interactions.
