Apple launches iOS 26 with liquid glass design

Apple has announced a brand new expressive material design called liquid glass for iOS 26, as the next generation iPhone software and the biggest ever design change since iOS 7.
The one thing that you’ve noticed is that this version is not iOS 19, and Apple has decided to move with the generational change according to the year to come.
Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, explained that the company has utilized the power of the new hardware and software, which has come a long way over the past decade of development. Also, this new design is highly inspired by the visionOS, which was rumored in the previous reports.

This redesign starts with the lock screen, reflecting the glass with similar dynamic animations. The system app icons are heavily blended with this liquid glass design, built with different layers to look better.

The screen also has zoom controls, as well as a camera resolution button. The app UI is expansive and allows you to switch between modes, resolution, and more with a slide feature and tap functions. The new design aims to reduce distractions and allow users to focus on the camera view.
Photos has new tabs that reveal other gallery options based on the user’s interactions to simplify the photo exploration. Safari, on the other hand, has a full-page experience while reducing distractions and helping you read the content.
