Imagine: That’s what Elon Musk said will create viral videos, using AI?
Elon Musk, xAI founder, said on Thursday that his team is working on a new way to make viral videos fast called Imagine. Now there’s confusion around his statement, whether he was asking people to imagine the name or he was referring “Imagine” as the name itself.
Musk’s AI firm currently offers a generative image feature, allowing users to generate different types of images, including photorealistic and cartoonish. Users can also edit these images with effects in the aftermath.
The company has recently released the Grok 4 model family with powerful reasoning capability and trained it with the most powerful supercomputer cluster. However, its generative video model is slated to launch in the fourth quarter.
Prior to posting this on X, he also shared a teaser, “something very cool is brewing”. However, Musk didn’t revealed anything specific. However, he replied to a post that asked a meme generator feature for Grok AI chatbot.

This brings us back to the Vine app, a short-form video platform that launched as an app in 2013. Since its initial launch, Twitter acquired Vine and the app started gaining traction as the most downloaded free app on App Store.
It was basically, the TikTok of that time, where users can scroll through viral videos but the service discontinued in 2019.
Musk’s Twitter acquisition resurfaced Vine, which is now part of X’s ownership. This also led to some speculation of reviving Vine as a TikTok competitor. Musk posted a poll in October 202, asking followers to revive Vine, and more than 4.9 million people voted in favor.
If Musk has to bring something related to video sharing in short format, it could be the successor of Vine. If it’s a generative video feature, then we can give it a go with Grok, and if there’s something else, we’ll let you know.
