Tesla pushes FSD v14 release to next week
Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, said that the Full Self Driving (FSD) v14 release has been pushed to next week. Musk gave a reason that the software version has struck with a “last-minute” bug, which has been fixed, and the release could be possible on Monday, September 6th.
He explained that this extended time has enabled the company to add some more optimizations and a few more features to the release build. Usually, Tesla sends the first FSD builds to its employees, which gradually expands to public users, followed by a wider release for all FSD users.
Tesla’s FSD is an autonomous driving technology, which can drive cars in public, but the public version requires a driver to monitor its moves. For example, the driver must keep eyes on the road as FSD navigates through the road. This is labeled as Supervised FSD. On the other hand, Tesla’s Robotaxi operates on unsupervised FSD, and as you may have already seen, its driver seat is already vacated, except for the monitor guy that currently sits in the front row.

It has been four months since Robotaxi entered the road, and the EV maker has made some progress with its unsupervised FSD training, which it intends to bring to the public users. Especially about the driving intelligence improvement, which is likely to be better than the V13.
Musk previously said that the new FSD version will bring 10 times the parameters of the current model and a big upgrade in video compression loss. These statements look pretty promising, but we still don’t have any input on specific features that will be new to users.
Tesla also has plans to bring subsequent FSD v14 updates after the initial release. You can learn more about that here.
