Google Nano Banana Pro is here, the next-gen Image generation AI model
Google DeepMind has unveiled Nano Banana Pro, a new state-of-the-art image generation and editing model. It comes as a significant leap forward, built upon the foundation of the Gemini 3 Pro model.
At the heart of this upgrade is the model’s “deep thinking” capability. Nano Banana Pro utilizes the reasoning power of Gemini 3 to analyze the prompt deeply before rendering. This results in a profound understanding of world knowledge, lighting physics, and spatial relationships, ensuring that the final output is not only visually stunning but contextually accurate and coherent.
Nano Banana Pro has Advanced Text Rendering. For years, AI models have struggled to produce legible text, often resulting in garbled, alien-like gibberish.
Nano Banana Pro solves this by generating crisp, accurate typography directly within images. Whether you need a perfectly spelled headline on a movie poster, a label on a product mockup, or a full paragraph on an infographic, the model delivers distinct and readable text, opening up new possibilities for marketing and graphic design professionals.
Control is the central theme of this update, exemplified by the new Precise Editing Controls. Users are no longer at the mercy of a random seed; you can now fine-tune specific aspects of an image without destroying the rest of the composition.
This includes changing the camera angle to get the perfect shot, adjusting the lighting to shift from a sunny afternoon to a moody noir atmosphere, and modifying the depth of field or focus. Additionally, the model supports native 2K resolution with upscaling capabilities to 4K, ensuring that the outputs are sharp enough for print and high-definition displays.
Furthermore, the Image Blending and Consistency capabilities have been vastly improved. Nano Banana Pro can seamlessly blend up to 14 different reference images into a single, cohesive scene.
This is a game-changer for character consistency and complex compositions, allowing creators to merge specific elements—like a character’s face, a specific clothing style, and a background environment—into one unified image. The model maintains the identity and style of the reference inputs with a high degree of fidelity, making it an ideal tool for storyboarding and serial content creation.
Availability
Nano Banana Pro is available immediately to users worldwide. To access the new model, navigate to the Gemini app on your mobile device or desktop. Within the interface, select the “Create images” tool and explicitly switch the model setting to “Thinking”.
This activates the Gemini 3 Pro Image capabilities. While the feature is rolling out globally to all users, heavy usage may be subject to generation limits, with higher tiers available for Google AI Premium subscribers. Developers can also access the model via Google AI Studio for integration into their own applications.
