xAI Grok is now automatically translating and recommending X posts from other languages
xAI CEO, Elon Musk, has announced that Grok is now automatically translating and recommending X posts from other languages. Translation has been a key to the social media platform. And, X’s journey to the text translation world started with Google Translate.
However, Grok has enabled the company to achieve a major feat in this direction with deep integration. Grok is known as a chatbot with generative AI, which also creates AI videos with Imagine. However, since xAI and X are one company, their collaboration is not hidden from anyone.
In fact, with its launch in late 2023, Grok was only available for X users. Thereafter, X engineers gave it more control over the X algorithm, and last year, it fully handed over all AI features and algorithms to Grok.
As for now, everything you see on X, suggestions, and interests, is now driven by Grok’s AI algorithm.
Translation
In mid-2025, xAI launched a native translation for X users, enabling them to translate posts into their native language with one tap, similar to Google Translate but with Grok AI.
It appears that the company has trained the AI enough for better use, and what could be better than loading it into full action for all users?
For example, a post made in Japanese will now appear in English on your timeline, pre-translated.
Mixing other language posts in trends and the “For You” tab will increase content reach through different regions. This move will expose their high-quality content to all X users. Therefore, it will create a wide effect on content visibility with multilingual searches.
The Grok automatic translation and X recommendation is rolling out in batches, and it might take some time to reach all X.
