Apple will launch new camera technologies with the iPhone 16 Pro series and one of these will improve its anti-reflective capability with specific optimizations.

Naver Blog user @yeux112 has shared details on the next-generation iPhone and its camera coating tech. The user wrote that Apple is testing a camera lens with new coating technology for the Pro model.

This new tech is expected to feature new atomic layer deposition (ALD) equipment says the user.

Lens flair and ghosting during capture have been a wide problem in iPhones for a long time. However, ALD could be the right solution for this issue.

According to Beneq, antireflective coatings are designed so that reflected light will destructively interfere with itself. It will prevent unwanted reflected light from reaching the photodetector. ALD provides a technique to deposit antireflective coatings with high conformality on complex shapes.

The benefits of featuring ALD will provide a massive improvement in the photography department for the iPhone 16 Pro, which will launch later this year.
