Tesla released a new app update on the App Store and its code has revealed two features Autopark and Summon as well as other additions.

The latest change has been found in the Tesla app version 4.31.0, listed today for iPhones. The update doesn’t have any addition instead it’s a minor fix.

Decompilation done by Teslaappupdates shows that the app is now carrying new code for:

  • “autopark_summon_waiting_for_path_to_be_clear”
  • “autopark_summon_waiting_for_heartbeat”
  • “move back to circle (vehicle location/summon lease radius changed)”
  • “touch event because pin is outside summon leash circle”
  • “isSummonActive”

The appearance of these lines might indicate that Tesla is cooking something new for the users.

After an upgrade in 2021, Tesla has removed radar technologies to upgrade vehicles to a Tesla Vision camera-based system for autopilot. In the following year, Tesla removed ultrasonic sensors from its Model X, Model Y, and later from Model S and Model X as well.

The carmaker made some changes in the vehicle input section which aims to replace the ultrasonic sensors. In the meantime, the company has limited or disabled features such as Autopark and Smart Summon.

Autopark uses data to park the vehicle on public roads by operating the vehicle in parallel and perpendicular parking spaces.

Smart summons on the other hand allow the vehicle to move a vehicle on the user’s location or a location preference. It could step out of a Tesla car from parking spaces and around corners.

These two features have been widely available in pre-vision update cars.

Coming Back?

Early this week, Tesla CEO, Elon Musk said that the company will release new software updates in March and April. Both of these will bring new features for the customers.

Although the Tesla chief didn’t spoil the new features but he responded to an X user who asked for a question regarding Tesla’s auto park feature.

The latest mention in the code could align with the comment from the Tesla boss and bring back the autopark feature for Tesla owners. Still, a rollout is awaited.
