Tim Cook, CEO of Apple has said that the new and advanced Siri voice assistant will be coming over the next several months, which shows a doubt over this upgrade.

Apple’s chief shared this thought during a Q1 2025 earning call but refrained from saying anything specific about when it could come.

At WWDC24, Apple announced its generative AI feature suit Apple Intelligence including advanced Siri. This new voice voice assistant version demonstrated natural speech and language recognition.

You can do many more things with voice which isn’t possible with the current non-Apple Intelligence Siri. It also has deeper integration in system apps to open any feature with a voice command alone.

In the background, Apple is using natural language models for training and understanding the user language in real-time better than the previous version.

After the software event, Apple also hyped the new voice assistant with the iPhone 16 series in October. However, the iPhone maker has given no sight of what the company may be cooking for the customers.

The company took the cost of these iPhones in the name of Apple Intelligence features but actually, these features weren’t even shipped with the retail devices.

Instead, Apple Intelligence features were rolled out in batches with iOS 18.1, 18.2, and 18.3. With these past rollouts, the iPhone maker has seeded generative images, advanced writing tools, and ChatGPT integration to Siri but the advanced conversation is still missing.

Wider speculation on this matter is tied to iOS 18.4, which might have integrated this newer version of the voice assistant.

All things aside, Apple CEO has revealed that advanced Siri may not be ready to rollout with iOS 18.4. Yet, we’ll have to wait for a developer or a public beta to see what’s coming with this software update.
