xAI announced Grok 3 generative AI chatbot

xAI has announced its most powerful large language model chatbot Grok 3, which claimed to beat its competitor. It comes in two versions – Grok 3 and Grok 3 mini.
xAI says this chatbot is modeled after Hitchhiker’s Guide to Galaxy, a fiction series. The company announced its first version back in November 2023 exclusively for X (formerly Twitter) users.

Grok 3 benchmark
In the following year, xAI introduced Grok 1.5 with improved reasoning and increased to 128,000 tokens. Since then, it kept on increasing research on new computing capacity and build Colossus, an AI supercomputer featuring H100,000 Nvidia Hopper GPUs. It was built in 122 days and running workloads in 19 days after the first servers were delivered.
This cluster supported Grok 2, released in August 2024 with massive improvement. Some of its key features include generative images with its in-house model Aurora to generate photorealistic outputs.
The model can also identify different images including sketches, and memes, and share with you an analysis. You can upload a PDF to get a comprehensive answer-specific page. Answers also include search results from the web and X with source citations.
The company increased supercomputer capacity to 200,000 Nvidia GPUs in the second phase taking only 92 days and it’s employed for the Grok 3. The company has significantly increased the response rate and reasoning for the two versions.
Interestingly, Grok now has a separate app for mobile and a standalone website for users to try for free or with an upgraded account. The company is offering all of its features to these two platforms just like X.
Availability
Grok 3 is now available for Premium+ members for free and it will have a dedicated Supergrok plan with extra benefits later on.
