Rivian R1S California Dune

It’s February 19 and Rivian has revealed its new limited edition California Dune R1 series electric vehicle for customers with customized interior and exterior.

It has a limited edition color that is inspired by the shifting shades of the desert sands. The color shade matches the desert while off-roading or looks different when you drive it on the street.

The California dune version has dark accents around the vehicle under the Darkout Package that include badging to skidplates. To match the style, the wheels are available in dark or dune colors with a monochromatic finish.

This new version comes with an all-terrain package including a reinforced underbody shield, air compressor, and two all-terrain wheel options.

The interior has received a new color overlay with sandstone and dark ashwood rugged material. These two combined provide a high-contrast experience for driver and passenger rows.

On top of that, Rivian has introduced California dune R1 vehicles with dark crossbars and MAXTRAX recovery boards to keep those wheels moving all the time.

Specs and Price

The Rivian R1S California Dune comes with a tri-motor all-wheel drive, max battery, 20-inch dune satin graphite all-terrain wheels, Sound+ vision package, and more.

This version has 329 miles of EPA estimated range, 0-60 acceleration in 2.9 seconds, and 850 hp and starts at $105,900.

The R1T on the other hand has the same range and specifications starting at $99,900. You will have to pay $1,000 extra to get those 20-inch dune color-matched all-terrain wheels. The R1T owners will also get a powered tonneau cover v2 in this purchase package.

So, the performance is basically the same as the existing R1 series and the changes are reflected in the design to make it look more off-road friendly with additional accessories.
