Tesla CEO announces to double US production in the next two years

Tesla CEO, Elon Musk has announced that his company will double the production of electric vehicles (EVs) in the US in the next two years.
Musk made this announcement at the White House beside President Trump after he chose a Model S to show support for the Tesla chief, who has come under criticism for his work under Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
“In support of the policies of President Trump and to demonstrate our confidence in the future of the United States, Tesla commits to doubling vehicle production in the US within 2 years” he said during a press briefing at the White House.
It’s very unlikely that Tesla will set up new factories to increase production rate, instead, it will improve the existing manufacturing lines in the US to double the production.

During the Q3 2024 earning call, Musk said that the company is working on new models that will drive the growth at the company. These vehicles are expected to contribute 20% to 30% vehicle growth over 2025.
Last year, Tesla sold 1,773,443 and produced 1,789,226 vehicles across all of its factories including Giga Texas, Fremont, Giga Shanghai and Giga Berlin.
Earlier this year, Tesla introduced new Model Y around the globe and stopped previous model production. Due to which, the sales are declining but expected to rebound in the next quarter.
