Tesla removes old Model Y in the US and Canada

Tesla has officially removed the old Model Y from the configurator in the US and Canada, so, you can only buy a Launch Series Model Y from this day forward. However, you can always explore inventory with many previous gen Model Y listed there with different discounts.

Launched in January, the new Model Y is priced at $59,990 for the Launch Series, a limited edition for early buyers. This price covers different aspect of the car compared to regular models, and you can buy it only in one trim – Long Range All-Wheel Drive. The company has plans to introduced lower-priced RWD, and Performance later this year.

The Launch Series includes a free paint (including paid ones), a 20-inch wheel selection, Two package, interior as well as Full Self Driving (FSD).

Last week, Tesla hosted a Model Y delivery event at Giga Texas and Fremont factory and officially started this vehicle rollout to customers. The previous delivery dates for Model Y was estimated in March, but the website is no longer showing a new delivery date.

The new Model Y is eligible for $7,500 Federal Tax Credit, which cuts the cost to $52,490 with an upfront rebate, and you can also add $500 more with a referral link.

The new Model Y comes with a redesigned front and a more grounded appearance contributed by the light bars. The headlights are shifted a few inches below the lightbar near the air vents area. The wheels are optimized for a quieter experience, and the suspension is reworked to improve the driving experience.

This EV comes with new changes in the interior including ambient lighting, better seats with heating and ventilation for driver seat.

The rear seats are powered to support reclining and inclining. On the other hand, the passenger row now has an 8-inch screen to support separate entertainment, climate control, and it also supports two Bluetooth headsets simultaneously.
