SpaceX Falcon 9 launches from SpaceX Launch Complex 4E at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California

On June 19, SpaceX launched the NROL-179 mission from Launch Complex 4E at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California via the Falcon 9 rocket. Before liftoff, SpaceX confirmed the weather conditions and called them favorable, followed by propellant load.

NROL missions are commissioned by the U.S. National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), which makes their payloads highly classified, including their orbital class and deployment confirmation.

The first stage used for this mission completed its third flight, which previously supported two Starlink missions. After separating from the second stage, the first stage returned to the Landing Zone 4 and performed a landing following a final burn.
