Rivian R2 is on display in Austin until Friday

Rivian is showcasing its new Rivian R2 SUV in Austin this week and you can check out the vehicle from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. until Friday. It will be located at 220 South Congress Avenue. Austin, TX 78704.

Rivian confirmed that the showcase will be only for two days Thursday and Friday but it might be extended. Interested people can check the vehicle in person and experience it but the company might not allow them to drive it.

Several people on social media site X, formerly Twitter, revealed that the Rivian R2 may also be showcasing in Orlando on Sunday but it’s not officially announced.

On March 7, Rivian unveiled its new Rivian R2 electric SUV as a compact version of R1s. Similar to its design, the vehicle is also priced lower than the R1s starting at $45,000.

A previous interview with RJ Scaringe reveals that the vehicle will qualify for the full $7,500 federal tax. This will lead the price down below $40,000 almost half of the price compared to other flagship Rivian vehicles.

The vehicle is currently available for reservations and its deliveries will start in 2026.

Rivian’s CEO revealed on the next day that the vehicle had received more than 68,000 reservations within 24 hours. However, the company has not shared new statics on reservations.
