xAI has released Imagine video generation duration and resolution settings for the Grok Android app, allowing you to customize the video output for an efficient experience.

With the most recent update, xAI has introduced 10-second video generation for all premium users. As of the time of writing this article, the extended duration isn’t available for free users, but it might expand in the near future.

Adding to this, the newest Android app update has unlocked new Imagine UI controls as part of the “Imagine settings”. These controls appear by the time of inputting the image generation prompt in the prompt bar.

Here you can see Aspect ratio selection: 2:3, 3:2, 1:1, 9:16. The default video generation duration is 6 seconds for all free users, but premium users can go up to 10 seconds with an on-screen option. Thereafter, users can generate the output in an extended range from the very beginning.

Furthermore, users can now generate 720p videos from the beginning, while the current default is 480p for free users. xAI has released these options in tandem on the video playback screen as well.

In this case, I’ve found that the Android team is doing a much better job of advancing the features compared to iOS. New Imagine settings aren’t available on the iOS app for the time being, but it may become generally available with an upcoming update.

Grok Imagine is an AI model that allows you to generate ready-to-use short videos from text-based prompts. It initially required generating image samples to turn into a full-blown video, but now, users can conduct a text-to-video task on their phones. You can also add a voiceover through the same prompt.
